Old Tiger, Josh Damigo at Soda Bar, 11/23/10

Josh Damigo opened up a night at the Soda Bar last week, armed with just a guitar and a few effects. I would have rather seen his actual band, a looping pedal isn't the same thing. I'll give the music more of a chance next time I hear it, but I wasn't feeling it this night so I sat at the bar and enjoyed a refreshing Red Barn Ale.
------------------------------------------
I had high hopes for Old Tiger's set. They have a great EP out that drips with soul, and I wanted to see if they could pull it off live, too.
Right from the first song, they laid down a steady groove that carried Dustin's blues-inflected singing.
Eric was a drummer I played with for a while, and one thing I noticed about him is how he keeps his pinky out all the time.
He and Matt are also the rhythm section for the High Rolling Loners.
Hopefully next time, they can play a night with the Mashtis and Low Volts or something. That would be a great show.
