I'll be posting the show photos soon, but I did some group shots for the Joshua White Quartet last week. I didn't have a lot of time to set up the shot, so we did it quick and dirty while they were packing up.

Dizzy's is a great location for this, but next time I'll ask Chuck Perrin to turn the lights down a bit, so I can make the performers the stars of the image.



The 30 second exposures and bright ambient lighting made motion blur inevitable. The performers actually posed themselves perfectly for me. Still, putting the halo of chandelier lights around Joshua's head was intentional. He was the leader, after all, and I wanted the focus to be on him.
