San Francisco Vacation- Napa Valley, 7/21/09
You might not remember, but we went on vacation to San Francisco last summer. I only got around to posting the first half of the trip, and when more photo projects came up, the rest of these shots got buried. I'm going to try and catch up over the next week or two.
We spent a day on a bus tour of Napa Valley, which is totally worth it! No driving means you can focus on drinking at all the wineries you can hit, and everything is planned out for you so you don't have to worry about making the wrong choice of stops. And Napa grapes are beautiful.
Balducci was our first major winery stop. Since it's been so long, I can't remember what we tasted, but I do remember thinking that these wines are all world class, and almost worth the $17 tasting fees.

We bought a bottle at Rutherford Hill, another famous place.
The tasting room was one of the cozier ones in Napa.

As far as outdoor architecture, V. Sattui was the prettiest.
We bought a bottle here too. I have no idea how special an occasion it will take to open it, but I'm sure I'll know when the time is right.
Our final stop was Artesia, which had average wines, but a great view of the post-modern art on the campus as well as the rolling hills going off into the distance.
On the way back, we made a stop on Treasure Island for a view of the bridge. This was the only clear day of our whole trip. July is not a nice weather month in this town.
