Heather and I went down to Dizzy's last Thursday on the spur of the moment. A block away, Fleming's was having a bar special that I wanted to try, but it was packed so we ate at the Wine and Culinary Center right next to Dizzy's instead. The food was just OK. We probably would have had a better time eating at the bar and doing a wine tasting instead of just ordering the house red.

After dinner, we saw Akademix, Mikey Cannon's soul-jazz band.







I liked David Carano's laid back style, it's very heavy on the Scofield funk influence. In fact, I enjoyed the instrumental songs more than the ones with singing.
